Our Program
Our Program
“Kesher: Interactive Friendships for Young Jews” is a program designed to bridge the widening gap between Jewish North American and Israeli students. Through our exciting, innovative and unique workshops, students from the respective societies (schools in North America and schools in Israel) will create interactive programs through a video pen pal-type experience on Jewish themes in the context of coming-of-age reflections on daily life.
The final productions will be aired as joint Israeli-American TV programs as well as a student-made Video Festival held in Israel and North America. We hope these festivals will expand each year as more schools join the Kesher project.
Our Global Goal
Our National goal is to connect schools in sister cities in North America and Israel. Classes in each school will create videos based on these themes as well as personal reflections. At the end of the school year we will produce a video festival in Israel and in its sister schools in North America. The Festival will highlight the best student-made productions and students will receive awards for their achievements. In addition a number of KESHER TV shows will be produced with highlights of the festival and documenting the year long process.

Local Goals – Workshops
In addition to our six month ‘interactive friendships’ program we can offer the KESHER Workshops to individual schools as a five day intensive Workshop. Students will brainstorm on various Jewish themes and create videos based on their ideas. The KESHER introductory workshop will give students an opportunity to voice their opinions, re-shape their ideas and research their Heritage. The videos created in class may become part of the Israeli Student-Made Video Festival and also seen on KESHER TV.
WARNING: The KESHER TV Workshops may increase your child’s independent thinking, Jewish growth and connection to Israel.
